YKnot is a rock band from Miami, Florida, USA formed in 1986 by Joel Someillan (guitars, bass, vocals), Rick Sanchez (lead vocals, bass), Albert Martinez (drums, percussion), and Steve Bergman (keyboards, synth bass). Their original sound comes from a combination of their influences which include The Police, Rush, Genesis, Night Ranger, Yes, The Producers, and more.  

Back in the 80s, they brought their energetic live show to venues all over South Florida where they would draw sizable crowds anxious to hear their latest songs. After four years, the difficulties of the local scene, along with the fast-approaching complications of life, took its toll on the boys and they went their separate ways. Although they did manage to begin recording lots of songs, they were never able to finish them due to time and financial constraints.

The four members stayed in touch and remained friends throughout the next three decades while launching careers and starting families. The music they had created remained in their hearts and minds always. After a fateful gathering of the four in December 2019, they began talk about the music and soon found themselves in the studio once again after so many years. They opted to start from the beginning and record the first six songs they ever wrote together. They found that the sound of the band had not changed one bit even though so much time had passed. Through Covid and much more, the album was finally finished in May of 2024 and released to the world on July 1st of that same year under the appropriate album title “…about damn time”.  And thus begins the relaunching of Rick, Joel, Albert and Steve, together once again as YKnot.
